Sauce
Arnoud van den Heuvel, (NL) designer i.c.w. Jan den Besten, (NL) soundartist

The low threshold that Pleinmuseum is aiming at, may have as a consequence that the visitors pay no attention to the work that is being showed, because they thinkit is highbrow or, on the contrary egalitarian. Arnoud van den Heuvel and Jan den Besten worked this out. What is untasteful, but also what is tasteless, can best be swallowed with a sauce. Add Sauce and cultures will be united. Sauce is greasy and delicious, but not without consequences.

Duration: ca. 10 minutes

Arnoud van den Heuvel (1978) studied graphical design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and did a Mastercourse at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. He makes mostly digital collages as statements against massconsumption like; the Visual Power Memory Game, Wonderkamer in the Museum for Communication in The Hague and Rainbow for a temporary exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (Post CS).

Jan den Besten is an autodidact. He likes to play with sounds. Startingpoints in his work are a need for pureness, exporation and interaction with surrounding and listeners. He likes to combine his soundwork with media like theatre, dance and film. examples are Still, i.c.w. fotographer Wilma van de Hel and Draumstätte, together with theatremaker Maud Nicolaas.
